Tone up in just 5 minutes a day!
Monday, June 27, 2011 at 1:00PM Summer is in full swing but if your still feeling like you could tighten things up a bit but are short on time commit to doing the plank twice a day for 5 minutes a session. The Plank is a great way to build endurance in both the abs and back, as well as the stabilizer muscles. It's the ALL round best exercise for your body!
- Lie face down on mat resting on the forearms, palms flat on the floor.
- Push off the floor, raising up onto toes and resting on the elbows.
- Keep your back flat, in a straight line from head to heels.
- Tilt your pelvis and contract your abdominals to prevent your tush from sticking up in the air or dropping in the middle.
- Press your weight back, out through your heels.
- Work up to hold for 60 seconds, lower, rest and repeat 5 times.
