A writer at heart, Mary Susan has contributed to the book, Bye-Bye Boardroom: "Confessions from a New Breed of Stay-At-Home Mom’s” twice featured on the Today Show and a new book Mom’s Night Out: Even Inmates Get Time Off for Good Behavior being released in 2008. Writing and publishing her own book, "Mommy Magic: Tricks for Staying Sane in the Midst of Insanity” has been her passion and a dream come true.

As one of the Midwest's premier parenting experts, Buhner writes a monthly featured column for Indy's Child Parenting Magazine, Cincinnati’s Child Parenting Magazine, Southern Child Magazine and she is the TV Host of FOX 59's weekly "Mommy Magic" segment.

Mary Susan's honest and humorous approach to motherhood has helped thousands of mom redefine themselves outside their role of motherhood. She has created a community that encourages women and gives them permission to forgo the need to be the "perfect mom."

She is also a trained Success Coach for Real Time Coaching™. Helping other women realize their potential and empowering them is a passion for her as well. As an author, Success Coach and Speaker her most rewarding role is being a mom to her three girls.

Before staying home to raise her three girls, Mary Susan Buhner had a successful and rewarding career in the not-for-profit sector. With a degree in Speech Communication from Indiana University and earning a management certificate in fundraising from the well-respected Center on Philanthropy, she led fundraising efforts for several educational institutions including: Indiana University Foundation, Butler University and Lawrence Township School Foundation.

Mary Susan is an advocate for not-for-profit organizations that support children, education and health and wellness. She has served as President for the Indiana University Alumni Club in Indianapolis, served eight years in various leadership capacities for The Junior League of Indianapolis including serving on its Board of Directors. She has also led grassroots efforts to raise countless dollars for needy children in the Indianapolis area. Mary Susan was recently selected as the 2010 Chair for the Ovarian Cancer Fundraiser in Indianapolis and Chairperson for the "Doing Deaf Differently" Campaign and "Not So Silent Auction" benefitting HEAR Indiana.

Mary Susan was recently selected to serve on the National Steering Planning Committee for Indiana University’s Colloquium for Women National Leadership Conference.

Mary Susan is a motivational leader is is committed to helping the causes she believes in raises awareness and funds. In 2010, it is her personal goal to help raise over $100,000 in funding through her leadership and involvement in the community. She is a hands on leader who deeply believes in being an example for her children and the importance in teaching them to give back to others and the community.

A true extrovert, Mary Susan enjoys traveling, new experiences and adventure. When home she loves gardening, swimming with her girls and reading. She enjoys family activities and being outside “doing anything active.” Most of all, Mary Susan enjoys the company of those who have a good sense of humor and can laugh at themselves.

She has a favorite motto that she tries to live by that was made famous by Ghandi, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
